It is the time from the date of manufacture until the product becomes unsuitable for its intended use due to changes in its physical or chemical properties.

The management of chemical shelf life involves ensuring that chemicals are stored under the appropriate conditions and that their usage is within the recommended timeframe. This includes proper labelling and documentation of chemical inventory, appropriate storage conditions (such as temperature and humidity), regular inspection and testing of chemicals, and appropriate disposal of expired chemicals.
